A Hobby A Day
Necessity is the mother of invention, and the past several months have stood testament to that. When life changed drastically in March after iMerit's operations went remote, our teams have learned how to work, play, rest and entertain themselves, all within the safe confines of home. We in the Editorial Team have spent our time trying out home workout routines, catching up with friends via video calls, and watching shows on streaming platforms. Members of the iMerit family have nurtured a variety of hobbies during lockdown and some have shared photos of their creative endeavours.
Nusrat Jahan of Metiabruz channeled her talent for sewing and design, keeping busy with her trusty sewing machine
Another iMerit fashionista Indrani Paul, from Baruipur, transformed a plain kurti into a work of art, with her intricate painted patterns.
Saba Parween from Metiabruz built simple and elegant picture frames, using materials available at home. Talk about resourceful!
While spending so much time indoors, sprucing up the decor has been a great creative outlet. Shabnam Shazia, also from Metiabruz, created floral decorations, to brighten up her home.
Dalgona coffee and banana bread were culinary trends that went viral in the early days of the lockdown. Shagufa Shazia of Metiabruz too fed her sweet tooth and baked yummy chocolate cakes for herself and her family.
Suparna Karmakar of Baruipur put her talent for make up to work, by experimenting with bold looks with a social message.
These have definitely given us #Goals of how to spend our time at home. Here are some ideas from the Editorial Team on other activities to make use of quiet time at home -
- Learn a new skill through an online course
- Catch up on reading books by your favourite authors
